It's definitely the lighting for me! Everyone looks better by candle light.
Lighting is huge!
The furniture, napkins,and the changing of the wine glasses and silverware during the different meal courses are also items that I believe add to the sex appeal of a restaurant.
I can see that, IMAFOODIE - personal attention. Customer service goes a very long way today. I also think that when the owner/chef of a restaurant comes out and meets patrons in the dining room, it adds a nice personal touch - intimacy, if you will.
